To enable remote access to voicemail, the account must first have a pin configured for the voicemail feature otherwise remote access to voicemail is disabled.

With a valid PIN code set, the voicemail system can be accessed with the following procedure:

1- Call into your extension/phone from an outside line

2- When your voicemail answers, press the "*" key

3- You will be prompted to enter you access code (PIN)

At this point, you can navigate the voicemail system as usual.

If you are calling into your extension via an Auto Attendant, you can speed up the process by dialing directly into your mailbox without waiting for the ringing timeout. This is done by dialing your extension prefixed by "8" from an auto attendant. This is especially useful in cases where your extension may have call forwarding enabled, in which case it would not be possible to dial into your mailbox.
