In some situations you may experience one way audio in which you do not hear the called party when the Caller ID (CLID) Mapping is left to Anonymous.

The reason for this is based in Quality Carriers ALWAYS want to see the Caller ID (originating calling number) in order to properly process and bill the call. If they do not see it they may reject the call and eventuallty go through a lower quality carrier who down the line has audio issues, mainly one way.

The Quality carriers expect the Caller ID and in situations where someone does not want their caller ID to go through, expect the use of *67 via our system which we in turn set a Privacy Flag in the SIP header. This travels through the carrier or carriers until the last terminating carrier will remove the caller ID.
