Typically we use our domain names when asked by either equipment or a provider to enter something like the Proxy Address or Registrar address. This would be something like trunk.packetvoice.us or customer.domain.com as an example. In some cases we can only enter the equivalent IP address. in order to find the ip address of the domain name, we can use a multitude of free applications on the internet by simply searching on google or if you use windows, you can easily find by using the PING function. Here is the procedure:
- Go to the start button
- Click All Programs and find the Menu "Accessories" Folder
- Click on Command Prompt
- When the Command Prompt window comes up, type ping and the domain name. ex.. ping trunk.siptpna.com
- It will come back 3 times with the IP address if it is reachable
On a MAC:

- Click on the Network Utility Icon
- Click on the PING tab
